United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII)

On day one of the 21st Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), the ʻAha Pūnana Leo, who also celebrated its 39th anniversary, held a side event webinar to present on the success of the indigenous language revitalization efforts in Hawaiʻi over the past 40 years and discussed the current perspectives on Hawaiian language as a utility in today’s society.
